Mrs. Stockton's class is practicing rounding to the 10s and 100s place. Students put numbers in order and then determined whether to “stay on the floor” or “climb the vine” according to the rounding rules. The concrete pieces, being able to move and manipulate the numbers, and then visually seeing what hundreds the number was closest to really help them to grasp the concept.

Lauren is beginning her 2nd year at Palmer Middle School, where she teaches 8th grade Science and serves as the NJHS Sponsor. Lauren loves working in PISD because of the small-school feel and the incredible community we have here. She creates engaging science lessons because she believes science should be hands-on and fun! This year, Lauren is also launching the Middle School Travel Group and planning an exciting student excursion to Boston. We’re also proud to have her two daughters as Palmer Elementary students!

We want to remind all families that the Free and Reduced-Price Meal Application for the 2026–2027 school year is now open.
Students who qualified in 2025–2026 must submit a new application to continue receiving free or reduced-price meals this year.
Completing the Free & Reduced Meal Application not only helps with meal benefits—it can also qualify students for additional school-related discounts, such as:
-College application fee waivers
-College entrance test fee waivers (SAT/ACT)

Let's cheer on our Bulldogs with some fun pep rally themes this football season! Elementary students will attend Thursday's pep rally in our best NEON gear!

The elementary completed drills this past week - lockout, lockdown and evacuation. Our students did an incredible job following directions!!
Wyatt was jumping up and down with excitement when we called his mom to tell her about his positive office referral! Mrs. Stockton noted Wyatt showed self-control, responsibility, a positive attitude and was working hard. Way to set the tone for third grade, Wyatt!
Students interested in being a part of our Palmer Jr. FFA Ag Mechanics Showteam. Please use the QR code in the flyer to sign up. This program is designed to give our Jr. FFA members an opportunity to plan, design and build a project to show at ag mechanics project shows.
Mrs. Leal’s and Mrs. Yarbrough’s third-grade reading classrooms have been transformed into Reading Cafés! Students will enjoy a welcoming and engaging environment as they explore a variety of genres, discover new books, and develop a deeper love for reading. We are excited to see our students become curious readers, broaden their literary horizons, and find stories that inspire them!
