Day Four: “Start with Hello” week Thankful Thursday Who needs Rockstars when you have these phenomenal PISD students? Today our students were greeted by our amazing PHS Football players and Varsity Cheerleaders! Thank you for being such great examples of how to make others feel welcomed and valued. Students made Kindness/Inclusion note cards for different grade levels and delivered them to class during Specials’ time. Ms. Chambless continued her lessons discussing the importance that empathy plays on creating a loving, supportive and inclusive school climate. Students learned that empathy is not only about figuring out how someone is feeling, but also caring enough to do something about it. What are some ways to continue to make others feel accepted and included everyday, not just one week out of the year? 1. Pay Attention to Other People’s Feelings 2. Think Before you Speak or Act 3. Celebrate and Realize that Everyone is Different 4. Stand Up for Others Parents, Students and Staff, thank you for making “Start with Hello” week so impactful!
