Middle School -

Congratulations to our staff of the month, Mrs.Young and Juan. We are so grateful for our awesome MS staff members!

This morning the 6th graders wrote letters of appreciation for Mr. Barrett in honor of Veteran's day. We listened to the Navy song (Anchors Aweigh) and Mr. Barrett showed us pictures of different ships. We love Mr. Barrett!

Some of our Jr FFA members spent some time after school this week getting to learn some basic shop skills. They learned how to use some of our woodworking equipment including the miter saw, scroll saw and sanders. Some of them also got to learn some basic welding skills.

WE DID IT! We donated enough cans to fill the bus and get a 1/2 day of school on Thursday, November 21st. We will dismiss at 12pm. Thank you for helping our Palmer community.

5th grade got a real treat today! They got to hear from real life veterans, CPT. Myers and SGT. Jenkins!

🏀MS boys basketball update🏀 7th and 8th grade boys basketball tryouts will begin Monday at 715am. 8th grade boys will be at the high school gym and the 7th grade boys will be at the middle school gym. **the boys games that were scheduled for Thursday, November 14th have been moved to Saturday November 17th. The first game will start at 10am. There will be more information next week**

Students are using the Mt. Vernon Museum interactive, “Be Washington” experience to determine how they would have handled domestic issues in early America.

Dear Palmer MS Community, We would like to share some exciting news with you. As the bands prepare for UIL Concert and Sight-reading contest next spring we will take the 7th and 8th graders (2 bands or about 65 students) to perform on a stage in an auditorium at SAGU. They will receive feedback from a clinician and then go have a fun day at an indoor waterpark. We are having a fundraiser through Fan-pledge to help cover the cost. This is strictly donations and can all be done electronically through the Fan-pledge website. Checks/cash donations are also an option. MS girls basketball opened their season tonight against Keene. All teams came up short, but we are proud of their fight. Looking forward to a great season!

The MS parent worship over fentanyl has been canceled due to possible weather issues. We will reschedule at a later date.

If you are dropping off food, cans or other big items to the MS, look at our new addition! Use the marker to put your kiddos name on the bag and place it on the shelf. We will check it throughout the day.

Monday night at the MS, Reach Council will present to parents about fentanyl, vaping, and other drugs. Please join us in the MS cafe at 6pm.
