Fellowship of Christian Students had a great first meeting of the year today during Activity Period. We began planning for See You At the Pole which is in late September.

Environmental science began some clean up on the Palmer Prairie today. Some long lasting bluebonnets and sunflowers are dropping their seeds for next year’s blooms. There is good evidence of biodiversity. Even with weeds and plants in transition, we saw hummingbirds, bees, and a rabbit.

Free & Reduced Meal Applications Now Open for 2026–2027

We want to remind all families that the Free and Reduced-Price Meal Application for the 2026–2027 school year is now open.

Students who qualified in 2025–2026 must submit a new application to continue receiving free or reduced-price meals this year.

Completing the Free & Reduced Meal Application not only helps with meal benefits—it can also qualify students for additional school-related discounts, such as:

-College application fee waivers

-College entrance test fee waivers (SAT/ACT)

To apply online, please visit www.palmer-isd.org/page/child-nutrition or stop by the front office of any campus and ask for a meal benefits application.

The cross country teams ran at the Kaufman sports complex this morning. Emma Follis ran a time of 19:16, Ryder Fortenberry ran a time of 20:36, Owen Manqueros ran a time of 22:37, and Dakota Depa ran a time of 23:21. The next meet is Wednesday at the Keene Invitational.

🏈 Football Scrimmage Update 🏈 Due to the projected WBGT being above the level that would allow us to scrimmage, we are unfortunately going to cancel the JV portion of the scrimmage today. Varsity will have their start time moved to 7:30pm. The safety of our student athletes is our top priority. We hope to see everyone tonight at 7:30 to support the Varsity team.
