Happy National Assistant Principal Week 2026! 🎉

This week we celebrate the assistant principals who keep our schools safe, supportive, and running smoothly—those problem-solvers and mentors who make daily learning possible.

Palmer ISD has the best assistant principals and we appreciate so much all they do!

On Thursday, the heifer and steer shows rounded out county week at the expo. The students did an amazing job prepping for the show and getting their animals ready for exhibit. Heifers had a good showing, bringing home a banner and a first place ribbon! Sydney Stewart- Champion Simbrah Jenna Rhodes- 1st Santa Gertrudis Steers showed as well and although they didn't fair how the exhibitors would have liked, all students did an outstanding job getting them shown! Alyson Meachum has qualified for regionals in Extemporaneous Speaking. She will compete in Brenham on April 25th. Congratulations Alyson!

The Palmer Boys are headed to Regionals! They will play at Brenham Country Club on April 13th & 14th!

Intro to Culinary students prepared and presented for their cupcake competition. Congratulations to our winner Reese Zhanel with her spring strawberry cupcakes! Special thanks to our judges for taking the time to come judge our contest.

⛳️ Day 2 of district golf is underway ⛳️

Wednesday was pig day at the expo and we are proud of our students yet again! Palmer FFA/ Jr. FFA students worked well together, as a team, getting pigs prepped and ready for the show ring better than ever before and in the ring, it showed! 4 Palmer FFA Students made sale with their projects! Swine Exhibitors include: Lainey Orr Aubri Aduddell Kooper Patino Hagen Patino Koltyn Nelson Kylie Nelson Silas Jordan Cole Spurlock Way to go pig exhibitors! It was a fun day!

Our Palmer FFA and Jr. FFA members are still trucking at the Ellis County Youth Expo! Yesterday was another busy day with the broiler and goat show! 4 Palmer students competed in the goat show and all did well getting their animals set and shown for the judge. Although only 1 student stuck a sale spot, all 4 did amazingly well, especially since it was 3 out of 4 of their first county showing goats! Congrats to Reese Wright on placing 3rd and getting a sale spot! Goat exhibitors include: Rosa Castillo Laney McCarty Lucy McCarty Reese Wright

Growing up in the small town of Quinlan, Arlene Holt was a three-sport athlete, which helped shape her passion for athletics, teamwork, and leadership.

She earned her Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of North Texas and her Master of Arts in Sports Management from the University of Central Arkansas. Coach Holt has spent the last 13 years teaching English and 11 years serving as a Varsity Assistant coach, where she's had the opportunity to develop student-athletes both on and off the court.

Coach Holt is passionate about creating a positive and encouraging environment where all students can succeed.

Great start to the day at county show. We are starting today with the market broiler show. We had two students Evelyn and Rosa Castillo showing today. Evelyn was Grand Champion Market Broilers and Rosa had the 5th and 6th place pens of broilers. Awesome job and thanks to all that helped hold birds in the show this morning
