Part 1 of squad/twin day at PES!

Giddy up, Bulldogs! We are ready to lasso the lions on Friday night! 🤠

Today ended another great week at PES! Your children make our job so much fun! 🖤💛🖤
Huge shoutout to all of the following student and community groups that greeted our students this week:
- Color Guard
- police
- firefighters
- Belles
- cheerleaders
- football players

Start with Hello Week: Day Three
Choice Board Wednesday
Making a difference in someone's life is a choice. Reaching out and making someone feel like they belong is a big part of becoming a good citizen and building a strong and supportive community. It promotes a climate of belonging and respect that allows students to be more successful academically, socially and emotionally. Ms. Chambless is continuing to teach students how to look for and find those that might be feeling left out or isolated and how to learn ways to reach out and include them so that they know they belong.
Today we were greeted by the JV Cheerleaders and the Belles. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to support our littles! We appreciate it more than we can express!
Our Challenge Today:
Students chose kind/inclusive acts from a bingo board and marked them off as they completed them today. We are continuing to provide every opportunity for our students to learn how to help others feel valued and know that they belong at PES.

Superhero Tuesday: Kindness is our superpower! Palmer Elementary students can wear a superhero T-shirt tomorrow as we celebrate kindness as our superpower!!! True superheroes will be greeting us on Tuesday as we continue with our participation in "Start with Hello" week!Palmer Police and volunteer firefighters will be welcoming and greeting our students as they arrive in the morning.

"Start with Hello Week" is a program that promotes inclusion and belonging. The goal of the program is that students learn to be inclusive and that no student ever feels isolated or feels that they don't belong. We have Greeters every morning this week to welcome our students as they arrive to school. In addition, we have daily challenges and activities/discussions during the day. Our counselor, Miss Chambless, will be doing lessons for students on being inclusive everyday during Specials!
Our mantra: 1. See someone alone 2. Reach out and help 3. Start with hello.
Today, Monday, September 18, we had our HS ColorGuard alternating between performing with music and reaching out to our students with expressions of welcome.
Today's Daily Challenge: Reach out to anyone playing, eating and socializing by themselves.

Elementary students rocked our first set of drills last week. Our campus completed a lockout/secure, lockdown and evacuation drill.

4th graders have been studying mixtures and solutions. Last week's experiment allowed students to make their own lemonade. Some recipes didn't include quite enough sugar!

Last week's highlights from the elementary campus include gym time with Ready, Set, Teach high schoolers, small groups, sight word practice in kindergarten and friends working together on the computer.
