Meet the Teacher
District and campus admin had the honor of attending the Region 10 Teacher of the Year luncheon to celebrate Mrs. Carvalho and Mrs. Zhanel! Both of these educators work tirelessly to build relationships with students and provide engaging lessons. Mrs. Carvalho will continue to teach second grade, serving as the grade-level chair. We are fortunate to have her leadership at PES and could not be more excited to celebrate her continued success!

Welcome to Palmer Elementary School, Angela Moser!

Hi everyone! My name is Angela Moser, and I am so excited to be joining the Palmer ISD family as a kindergarten teacher!

I have been teaching for six years and have worked with kids in many different capacities over the years. I absolutely love teaching and creating fun, engaging lessons that my class and I can explore and enjoy together.

When I’m not in the classroom, you’ll often find me at the beach, playing the piano or flute, or curled up with a good book. And of course, my two dogs are my whole world — they keep life full of energy and joy!

I can’t wait to meet all of you and make this year a great one!

Welcome to Palmer Elementary School, Vidalee Torres!

Hello!

My name is Vidalee Torres and I'm excited to be joining Palmer ISD as the new bilingual Pre-K teacher. This will be my 8th year teaching. It's especially meaningful to be returning to Palmer ISD having graduated from Palmer High School myself.

I have a beautiful little boy, James, who keeps me on my toes with his love for all things cars and ocean animals. We have a Great Pyrenees named Lola who's the world’s greatest escape artist.

I am looking forward to a wonderful school year and can't wait to build relationships with my students, their families, and my fellow staff members.

Palmer FFA members recently attended the Texas FFA State convention. Members attended leadership workshops and exhibit show. They heard a keynote address, officer speeches and enjoyed a great concert by Texas country artist Aaron Watson. We are extremely proud to have five members receive their State/Lonestar FFA Degree. The Lonestar Degree is the highest degree of membership that the Texas FFA Association can award. Please congratulate Amethyst Ivie, Morgan MacDonald, Sydney Stewart, Rosa Castillo and Cole Spurlock (not pictured) on this great achievement. Fun Fact Chester Heard and Norman Vestal were the first Palmer FFA members to earn their Lonestar Degrees in 1952.

Welcome to Palmer Elementary School, Jessica Rodriguez!

Hi, I’m Jessica Rodriguez! I was born in Austin and raised in Round Rock, Texas. I’ve been married to the love of my life Rodrick for 13 years and have two amazing children—our sassy 4-year-old larger than life Jolene, will be attending Palmer and is the sweetest girl, and our curious 6-year-old son, Cruz, who is autistic and teaches our family something new every day. His craze for monster trucks is like no other.

I have worked in childcare for the past five years and have a passion for helping children learn and grow. Being both an educator and the parent of a child with autism has deepened my appreciation for meeting every child where they are and celebrating their unique strengths.

In my free time, I enjoy reading, watching 90’s sitcoms, obsessed with coffee, gardening, cooking, homesteading, and just spending time with my family. My favorite pastime is seeing my family riding around on a tractor right before a Sunday cookout.

I am excited to join the Palmer community and look forward to getting to know the students, families, and staff!!!

Help Us Preserve Palmer ISD History!

Do you have old Palmer High School yearbooks tucked away on a bookshelf or in the attic?

Palmer ISD is working on a special historical project to preserve and celebrate the rich history of our schools, and we'd love your help! We're looking for yearbooks from 1965 and older to help fill in gaps in our collection.

If you're willing to loan or donate a yearbook, we'll handle it with great care. If needed, we'll simply scan it and return it to you promptly.

Every yearbook tells a story, and together we can preserve the legacy of the students, staff, and families who have shaped Palmer ISD through the years.

If you have a yearbook you'd be willing to share, please call the Palmer ISD Administration Office at (972)449-3389 or email us at yearbook@palmer-isd.org.

Thank you for helping us preserve Our Community. Our Schools. Our Future.

Welcome to Palmer Elementary School, Tonia Preston!

Hi! I am Tonia Preston and I am blessed and excited to be joining the Palmer Elementary staff. This will be my 24th year of teaching. I have taught both kindergarten and first grade and love them both! I also ran an in-home preschool while my children were young. My 3 children are now forever 24 in heaven, 23, and 18. Kennedi is working on her master's degree in speech language pathology and Karson is about to begin his second year of undergraduate study in political science. My husband, Dennis and I have been married for almost 6 years. He adds to the family bringing his 3 grown children, 2 in-law children, and together we have 6 grandchildren. I am delighted that our grandson, Oakley attends Palmer Elementary. We get to be Bulldogs together!

In my spare time, I love reading great books, dreaming about the library my husband has promised to create for me in our spare room, shopping in cute little downtowns, hanging out by the pool, loving on our pups Archie and Theo, watching the grandkids play sports and just spending time with family.
