Private, Non-Profit/Home School Participation

This notice is our invitation for your private/home school to join Palmer ISD in consulting about the Individuals with Disabilities Act for Private, Non-Profit/Home School participation.  Per regulation, the IDEA requires that LEAs spend a proportionate amount of their portion of IDEA-B funds on providing services to parentally placed private school children with disabilities to ensure equitable participation (34 CFR 300.133).

Students in public and private/home schools in grades K-12, who meet the eligibility requirements, may participate in the federally funded Special Education program of services. In order to determine equitable services, our district will consult with you to develop a plan to meet the needs of students with disabilities at your school.  A consultation meeting will be scheduled for approximately one hour.  Please contact Pennye Birdwell at Palmer ISD Administration Office, 303 Bulldog Way, Palmer, Texas 75152 or 972-449-3389, Ext. 6005 to schedule an appointment.
