SAT and ACT College Entrance Exams
PHS HIGH SCHOOL CODE : 445-340
SAT or ACT scores are an entrance requirement into every four-year college. Most Texas colleges will take either score. If you are seeking admission to an out-of -state school, please check with their admissions office. It is recommended that students take either test at the beginning of their junior year in order for them to retest if scores are not adequate. Even if you have determined you will attend a community college first, we still recommend that students take at least one of the tests because most scholarships require a score.
The easiest way to register for one of the tests is online. Click on the desired test name below to register. We also recommend test prep in order for you to maximize your test score. It might mean the difference in admission into the school of your choice or receiving scholarship dollars.

Enrollment Tests
The state of Texas also requires another test for college entrance. Scoring low on one of the test areas (reading, writing, math) does not keep you from going to college, but will determine if you will be required to take developmental courses in those areas. Most colleges, such as Navarro College, for example, give a test called the TSIA2. Students with high enough SAT/ACT scores may be exempt from taking the TSIA2.
