• Hello,

I'm Mr. Armstrong and I would like to tell you a little about myself.  I live in Red Oak, near Rockett.  Previously, I was a teacher at Rockwall ISD where I worked with students with special needs.  During my 12 years at Rockwall, I taught 7/8 math, 7/8 science, 7/9 ELA-Reading, 9th Biology and Health.  I am highly qualified to teach any of the core subjects.  I hold license to teach as a generalist from early childhood to 8th grade, early childhood to 12th grade Special Education, English Language Arts and Reading grades 4th - 8th, and English as a Second Language EC - 12th grade.  I hold Bachelor's degrees in English and Psychology.  I also have a Master's degree in Secondary Education with an emphasis on Special Education.

I live with my wife, Sheila, along with 6 horses, 4 dogs, 6 cats.  I spend my evenings and weekends completing my "honey do lists" for this menagerie.  We have a daughter, Erin, who attended UT and is currently in medical school.  My wife is a partner in an international law firm which affords the ability to do what I love, working with middle school students.  The amazing thing about these students is they come to us as children and they leave as young adults.  The amount of physical growth and maturity in a couple of years happens right before your eyes.  If you blink, you miss the amazement of these students developing the character and intellect any parent would be proud of.

2017/2018 was my first year at Palmer ISD where I teach 7th reading. Palmer is everything I was looking for in a school district.  The parents are supportive, the students are respectful, and a pleasure to work with.  I look forward to the new school year and my new group of kids.
